Second Language Acquisition

This article looks at the issues of second language acquisition and comes up with very sensible suggestions and solutions which Hong Kong teachers on the course feel need to be shared with their Panels in order to improve the quality of second language learning.

Click here to access the article and accompanying mind map.

The pictures show teachers feeding back on best practice of second language learning, taken from the article.  The feedback is slanted at advice to their English Panel - things that need to be taken into account.

I think the message is that too much time in Hong Kong is spent on the structure of language - the grammar especially-  and not enough on actually speaking.

The feedback from staff about the training that you delivered yesterday was extremely positive and I really believe that we will see a lot of your ideas in action very quickly. Thank you on behalf of us all. I know the time you spent with us yesterday will make a difference to the students at ..........College. We will collate the information from the evaluation sheets and send you a copy.
